WI for installing a new version of NumberCruncher on GPW’s Session Hosts.

  • NOTE: These updates can be done live during business hours as they do not require a system reboot and it is just a local client application.

When client requests updates to the PBA.

  1. Install App on all the following Session Hosts
  • GPWRDSSH-GOLD (For testing new installs)

  • GPWRDSSH4

  • GPWRDSSH5

  • GPWRDSSH8

  • GPWRDSSH9

  1. Confirm End-User access post update
  • Coordinate tester with Client POC or vITM

  • ITSM Ticket/Request

  • Testing can be performed on GPWRDSSH-GOLD

  • Web site login to download new versions

  • 1Password > Websites > PBA - NumberCruncher

  • Add the software to the Software Repo listed below based on Calendar Year (CY20XX)

  • Media (Installer location)

  • I:\ (Software Repo) automapped drive under admin account

  • \NumberCruncher\CY20XX

  • \\gpwnas\Software\NumberCruncher\CY20XX

  • Server Credentials:

  • 1Password > Domain\Service Accounts > Domain admin 1


  1. Running through these updates should take less than 30 minutes!
  2. Add new version Media to Software Repo (see Requirements Section)




  1. Test installer on GPWRDSSH-GOLD first to confirm a reboot is not required.
  • IMPORTANT: If a reboot is required, client POC will have to schedule an After-Hours maintenance to avoid unnecessary downtime!

  • If no reboot is required during testing, updates can be done live, but we do recommend that the client POC send out an email comm to the firm to close out of NumberCruncher.

  1. Access the Media from the Software Repo (review Requirements section).


  1. Run as Admin on the installer


  1. Next
  2. Accept EULA, Next


  1. Take default install path, Next
  2. Make sure “All users of this computer” radio button is selected, Next


  1. Next
  2. Finish
  3. Open NumberCruncher on the Desktop and make sure build version is up-to-date with what is on their website.


  1. Repeat install Steps 4-12 on remaining Session Hosts:
  • GPWRDSSH4

  • GPWRDSSH5

  • GPWRDSSH8

  • GPWRDSSH9


  1. Contact vITM and vendor using portal access from 1Password.
