Prosperity Now has many consultants and vendors who need user level access to their system to complete their work.
If the consultant simply needs access to documents in Sharepoint they will need to be invited as a guest user. In order for this to work they have to be a M365 user with their own organization. If their organization uses something else like GSuite you can follow the directions below to create a prosperitynow.org account for them.

Access the Microsoft 365 Admin portal to create the new user: https://admin.microsoft.com/Adminportal/Home#/homepage

Go to the admin center, under “Admin Centers” click “Identity”

- Go to “All Users” and then “New User” and select “Invite external user”
- The basics tab will need the consultants email address, display name (their full name), and CC the person who made the request.
- Fill out the properties tab with as much information as you have. At a minimum it needs to have First Name, Late Name, Job Title, Company name, and fill in employee type as “Consultant”

In the “Assignments” tab add the “PN Consultants” group.

Click “Review + Invite” If the request requires the consultant to have an @prosperitynow.org email address these accounts should be created utilizing a Microsoft 365 Business Basic license. Do not assign an E3, Intra ID 2, or other licenses unless explicitly requested, with a justification provided and approved by POC and/or vITM. If the request is approved use the regular KB for new user onboarding instead of this one. (legacy URL removed)
- Access the Microsoft 365 Admin portal to create the new user: https://admin.microsoft.com/Adminportal/Home#/homepage
- Go to the admin center and select active users then “Add a user”
- Create the new user with the specified display name and username
- Username will be first initial last name ex: tuser
- Either generate a password autommatically or use the service desk standard (COMPANYyearinitials!) example: PN2024tu!
- In “Product Licenses” assign Microsoft 365 Business Basic license.
- In “Optional Settings” Fill in all provided profile information: Employee title, location, manager, contact info.
- Add user to requested groups and distribution lists.
- When responding to ticket note that this account will only be accessible through OWA at office.com or portal.office.com and not in standalone applications such as Outlook.
