Section titled “JGD & Associates – New User setup WI”Review and reference the new user specification form submitted.
Active Directory:
Section titled “Active Directory:”-
Login to the domain controller and create the new user under the corresponding OU in the active directory.

For remote and office users, create them under the following OU:

Expand JGDNET.COM>JGD Domain Users
-
Here you will create the user with the information provided, first name initial, last name is the username and email convention JGD uses.

Example: John Smith username jsmith
-
Password can be Service Desk Standard JGD2024(lowercase initials)!

Once the user is listed in the OU open the properties and add the job title to the description under the GENERAL tab,

then under the EMAIL field populate the email address provided in the specification form.

Use the JGD.CPA domain for the email address, for example, jsmith@jgd.cpa

Then proceed to the PROFILE tab, here you will create the HOME FOLDER.

Under HOME FOLDER, select the CONNECT option and add U: Drive: \\JGD-Data2012\Home$\(USERNAME)

Once the user setup is complete in JGD-DC01

Open PowerShell and run Start-ADSyncSyncCycle -PolicyType Delta

Login to MS365 portal, credentials found in PWDSTATE.

Look up the new user under USERS> ACTIVE USERS, select the account, and check the specification form to see if you need to add a license. If so proceed to associate one, if not available, please contact Dylan Quiros to add one for you.
Adobe Acrobat
Section titled “Adobe Acrobat”-
Login to Adobe portal with company credentials in 1Password.

Add user and assign license.
User Profile Requirements:
Section titled “User Profile Requirements:”-
Network Access, you will add the user to the corresponding security groups.

H-Clients
-
Read – FS_Client_ R
-
Read/ Write – FS_Client_RW
-
The rest of the drives are open, only the Clients drive has permissions.

Printers: Once you have access to the user’s computer, open the Control Panel from the computer, go to printers and add the ones that network discovery finds.

Scan to email syncs with Active Directory.

Test the user’s credentials.

If you have access to the user’s machine, sign into Office apps and send a test e-mail to/from the user.
