Michael’s how to doc:

How to Fix the easyPDF Printer Missing Problem

Issue: You recently installed the QCBD client software on a computer. When you try to login you receive the following message:

Or

Resolution: You must manually install the PDF Add-in. Follow the instructions below.

Explanation: Previously, when you installed the QCBD client software using the installer application (QCBD_wi.exe) the installer automatically included the installation of the PDF Add-in. It did this by automatically invoking the PDF Add-in installer MSI. No additional action was required. Now, Microsoft has changed their security settings which blocks the QCBD client installer application from automatically running the PDF Add-in MSI. As a result, you must manually run the PDF Add-in installer MSI as described below. We are sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused.

Manual installation of the PDF Add-in:

The installer files are located in the QCBD folder on the server:

\\NALU-APP\E:\CAMA Software\QCBD_Public\Workstation Installation\BCL EasyPDF

Select the version that matches your computer (32 or 64 bit). Double-click the file to start the installation. Follow the prompts and accept the default settings. NOTE: You must be logged in with administrative rights to run the MSI installer application.

When you log onto QCBD, the pop-up error message should be gone.

If not, other troubleshooting steps include:

  • Ensure Version 8 installed

  • Run QCBD_PDF64

  • Run QCBD ClientRefresh app

*ClientRefresh should be an app that gets installed with QCBD.
