RCP Block and Brick User Creation and Onboarding

Pre-Req 1. Login to M365

2. Verify there is an available M365 apps for business license for the new account

3. Message Jeremy or Ethan if a license needs to be added.

4. Once new license has been added to M365 continue with creating the account in AD.

Active Directory

1. Login to RCP-NOC-DC1

2. Launch Active Directory

3. Check the form, and verify what OU the account needs created as the location will determine what OU the user needs to be created in.

4. Example: Department Create the user account in the create OU: RCP Retail Lemon Grove/Store Managers Or rcpinc.tld/RCP Production Otay/Production

5. If there are any questions about where to place the user reach out the vITM.

6. Create the user account.

7. Username standard is first initial lastname: Example: jsmith

8. Set a default password for the new account

9. Add the Job title to the AD account, see new user onboard form.

10. Add mobile number to AD account, see user onboard form (if applicable)

11. Find the newly created account, and preform the following steps:

12. Under the profiles tab add the following settings:

13. Logon Script: rcpdrive.bat

14. Home folder:

15. Click the Option Connect

16. Set the following:

17. U: to \\rcp-fs\shares\users\%username%

18. Click apply

19. Preform Delta Sync to sync the new user account to M365 (Using the below command)

20. Launch PowerShell “As Administrator” and run the following commands:

21. Import-Module ADSync

22. Start-ADSyncSyncCycle -PolicyType Delta

23. Email the POC the following information

24. Username

25. Password

26. Email address

M365

Once the new user account has been synced to M365 preform the following steps

1. Login to M365

2. Find the new user’s account

3. License with M365 Business Premium

4. Add user to the requested distribution lists, see new user form.

Adobe Acrobat

Check to see if the new user onboard form has checked to add an Adobe license, if so, follow the steps below.

1. Login to Adobe admin portal, find credentials in 1Password.

2. Login see if you have an available license if not, contact vITM for approval.

3. Create the user and assign license.

4. User will receive the invite to create profile and download the software.

VPN

Check to see if the new user onboard form has checked have VPN access, if so, follow the steps below.

1. In AD open the user properties, go to member of and add Sonciwall SSLVPN.

See the notes section for and user specific request, also check with the person that submitted the new user to see if we need to setup the profile or provision a machine.

  1. Determine is the End-point is in provisioning
  2. If the End-Point is in provisioning. Continue with Step 2
  3. If the End-Point is not in provisioning, and require remote provisioning. Reach out the site POC (See KB00001467 [retired] for contacts) and Schedule time with the POC to get connected to the assigned company end-point
  4. Login to the newly users account
  5. Verify all standard applications have been install (See above KB00001691)
  6. List of application that need to be installed for the user will be checked on the onboarding form
  7. Configure outlook
  8. Verify the below drive have been mapped, and the user has the required access:
  9. U: \\rcp-fs\shares\users\%username% (Personal Drive Mapped through AD)
  10. H: \\rcp-fs\rcpdata
  11. R: \\rcp-fs\P21
  12. Confirm with the POC that everything has been setup, and working properly
  13. Once users profile has been configured on the end-point, and the POC has confirmed its ready. Go to AD, and check “User must changes password at next login”
