Importing Companies

Importing companies or deals to HubSpot CRM is a straightforward process, similar to importing contacts. Simply click the gear icon on the left of any Contacts, Companies, or Deals table view, then click “Import”. Tell HubSpot CRM what type of record you are importing, and choose a CSV file to import. You’ll be taken through the same process of mapping columns to properties you are familiar with from importing contacts before uploading.

Avoiding Duplicate Companies

Similar to how HubSpot de-duplicates based on email when importing contacts, when importing Companies, HubSpot uses the “Company Domain Name” property to de-duplicate companies, and enrich them with information from the web. If you import a “Company Domain Name” column, HubSpot will append any updates or new data to records that already exist before creating new records.

This is now an automated job that runs nightly.
